Speaking Topics

I've listed some of my topics below for eventsretreats, and workshops.  But if you have a theme for your event or your group has a particular need or focus, I would love to prayerfully collaborate with you to design a message that is perfect for your group.

Events (1 session)

From Striving and Surviving to Thriving
With so much to do, women are often at the end of their rope.  Not only this, but the world depends on them to keep it all running smoothly.  This creates stress, worry, anxiety.  Cindy brings Matthew 6:25-35 to the hearts of women as she gently shows them how they truly can seek his kingdom and move from striving and surviving to thriving!

The Secret to Contentment
Regardless of our circumstances Jesus tells us that we can experience true contentment.  However, the pain of life, pain we've brought on ourselves, pain we've experienced at the hands of others, and the pain of living in a fallen world often keep us from the joyful life Jesus promises.  Through John 10:10 and Philippians 4:11b - 13, Cindy reveals the secret to living the contented life.

Adopted Daughters of the King
We are adopted members of the royal family, daughters of the King of kings.  By examining Biblical themes of adoption, and sharing the story of the welcoming Katya into their family, Cindy gives women courage to lift their eyes above the mundane and even the painful of this life to gaze upon their Father who has secured their eternal destiny as daughters of the King.

True Beauty and the Ultimate Image Consultant
Beauty is business and women have bought into it ... big time.  With 2 Peter 3:4 as her main text, Cindy helps women come face-to-face with the Ultimate Image Consultant and discover beauty that doesn't fade.

Transformed Marriage
Marriage is often God's crucible for refining us.  Through personal stories and by examining Romans 11:33 - 12:2, Cindy comes alongside women and encourages them to see God's hand in their marriages, trust His command for their marriages, and then embrace His plan for their marriages.

Standing Against Oppression
Sarah was handed over to a king by Abraham.  Joseph was sold to slave traders by his brothers.  Esther was dragged into the harem of King Ahaseurus.  Traumatic, involuntary, and scarring, human trafficking was prevalent in Biblical times and it is prevalent today.  By sharing her personal experiences in Eastern Europe during the adoption of her daughter Katya and linking these experiences with Biblical mandates, Cindy stirs women to join her in standing against oppression in today's world.

Retreats (3-4 sessions)

Unveiled
Layer after layer, women often cover themselves with veils that hide their true self and hinder their walk with God.  Discover the woman you were meant to be as Cindy leads you through 2 Corinthians 3:18 showing you how to root your identity in Christ, cultivate intimacy with Christ, and impact the world through Christ.

Women Created In the Image of God
God created women in the image of God, but this is a hard concept to grasp.  With a panoramic look from Creation to the Cross, Cindy helps women take hold of this truth and apply it to their lives in a way that transforms the way they view themselves and the way they relate to those in their spheres of influence.

Pressing Into the Heart of God
In the pain of life, we have a choice.  We can press into the heart of God, or we can turn away and try to work through our sorrow our own way.  Through the life of Hannah, Cindy leads women into the satisfaction of running after God's heart, resting in God's heart, and receiving from God's heart.

Transforming Grace
Failure, pain, sorrow are realities in our world and yet when viewed through the lens of God's grace and mercy we see the great exchange.  Beauty for ashes.  Freedom for captives.  Sight for the blind.  Cindy sets the stories of Ruth and Naomi against the backdrop of Isaiah 61 to enable women to see the extravagant persistence of Jesus' transforming grace.

I'm Taking My Marbles and Playing Somewhere Else
This message is geared toward women who are leaders.  Sometimes the church doesn't seem to have a place for us and so we take our marbles and play someplace else, in the marketplace or in the para-church.  By looking at the life of Deborah, Cindy looks at the struggle of being a leader and helps women catch a vision of how to be a Christian woman and a leader.

Going Deeper in the Word
For women who want more from their quiet times than the "Basic, Simple, Straightforward Quiet Time," this workshop teaches women how to do word studies, examine cross references, and use online tools to take them deeper in God's word.

How to Develop a Message that Delivers
This hands-on workshop gives women the tools they need to examine a passage of Scripture and develop a message that will not only bring inspiration but transformation.

Endorsements

"Cindy is a truly gifted speaker.  She makes scripture come alive; she teaches in a way that inspires and convicts, that exalts Jesus in every way, making me hungry for more of him, but also giving me very practical applications for my life.  I always feel challenged to know the Bible more and to dig for God's wisdom as hidden treasure when I hear her speak.  I also feel challenged and spurred on to deeply and intimately know Christ in the way that she does."  - Maddy, VA

“During the past decade, I have had many opportunities to listen to and to be taught by women of faith - in the context of both large Christian conferences and small, intimate gatherings.  I can honestly say that Cindy Finley is the most sincere, authentic, and intentional speaker/teacher I have ever experienced.  Cindy’s ability to connect with women in the deep places of the heart, her desire to walk alongside others in their pain and in their joy, and her commitment to transparency and honesty are unparalleled.  The Lord has equipped Cindy with a truly beautiful gift - the ability to use words, both spoken and written, to instruct the mind and to inspire and transform the heart.  - Marcy, VA

“Using her own life experiences, compassion for others, and her gift of relating to women, Cynthia teaches the Word of God in a way that makes you crave more!  Cynthia has a love for God that is undeniable and contagious and so naturally conveyed through her teachings.  Her obedience and commitment to growing God’s kingdom is inspirational.”  Juleen, PA
